The ZW228-1 employs a resistive (conductive) moisture detection technology. Conductive patterns are inserted into the diaper, and when urine makes contact, the resistance changes — the simplest yet most optimized method for disposable product applications.
The sensor attaches to the outside of the diaper and is compatible with any diaper brand. With a 400mA battery, it supports extended continuous monitoring. It charges via USB Type-C, with a charging time of approximately 1 to 2 hours.
The company is reportedly exploring next-generation sensor development that combines capacitive sensing with gas sensors (VOC, ammonia) for a comprehensive multi-sensor approach.
